This week, federal agencies have posted new government grant opportunities to protect the environment and reduce emissions as well as to advance data-driven research models and protect our roadways.
The National Marine Fisheries Service’s (NMFS) Coastal Ecosystem Resiliency Grants solicitation is to implement projects that use a proactive approach to improve or restore coastal habitat to:
1) Strengthen the resilience of U.S. marine and coastal ecosystems and decrease the vulnerability of communities to extreme weather and
2) Support sustainable fisheries and contribute to the recovery of protected resources
The Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) is a federal formula grant program that provides financial assistance to reduce the number and severity of crashes, injuries, and fatalities and hazardous material incidents involving commercial motor vehicles.
The Natural Resources Conservation Service in New Hampshire is requesting applications to provide implementation of restoration activities on land enrolled in the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program Wetlands Reserve Easement (ACEP-WRE).
The objective of ACEP-WRE is to provide technical and financial assistance to landowners in restoring wetland and associated upland to maximize wildlife habitat. This is also to improve water quality improvements, reduce soil erosion, and reduce impacts of flooding.
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of automated model discovery systems that create empirical models of real, complex processes from data.
Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.
The Office of Transportation and Air Quality is soliciting proposals nationwide for Tribal projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets operating at or servicing goods movement facilities located in areas designated as having poor air quality.
