1. Environmental Protection Agency – FY17 Region 4 Catastrophic Coral Disease

This program aims to support an investigation(s) of the extent and cause of the persistent coral disease described as “white blotch” currently impacting nearly half of the reef building coral species in Southeast Florida and the Florida Keys.

2. Department of Commerce – FY18 Bluefin Tuna Research Program (BTRP)

The BTRP program provides an opportunity to compete for financial assistance for projects which seek to increase and improve the working relationship among fisheries, researchers, state fishery agencies, universities, other research institutions and U.S. fishery interests (recreational and commercial) focusing on northern bluefin tuna in the Atlantic Ocean. The program is a means of advancing research objectives to improve the science-based fisheries management for Atlantic bluefin tuna.

3. Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service – Golden Eagle Movement Analysis and Northwest Great Plains Conservation Strategy

This program provides funding for research to provide scientifically defensible spatial products and conservation strategies to support conservation and management of Golden Eagles. The first program product is the Golden Eagle Movement Analysis, which will include: 1) describing and mapping patterns of movement in the western US, and 2) predictive models of habitats disproportionately used for movement. The second product is the Northwest Great Plains Conservation Strategy. This document will provide a synthesis of information on golden eagles relevant to the Northwest Great Plains ecoregion, including ecoregion-specific models, risk assessments, and information resources.

4. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service – Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) E&T DATA Grant

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017 (P.L. 115-31) provides approximately $5 million in discretionary grant funds to support State and local agencies in collecting and reporting outcome data for SNAP E&T programs, as well as additional funds for technical assistance, so that States can become more effective, data driven E&T providers.

5. Department of Homeland Security – Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Homeland Security National Training Program (HSNTP), Continuing Training Grants (CTG)

The Department of Homeland Security National Training Program (HSNTP), Continuing Training Grants (CTG) program plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal (the Goal) of a secure and resilient Nation. Delivering core capabilities requires the combined effort of the whole community, rather than the exclusive effort of any single organization or level of government. The FY 2017 HSNTP/CTG supports efforts to build and sustain core capabilities across Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery mission areas, with specific focus on addressing the training needs of our Nation.
