September is National Preparedness Month, and so for this week’s edition of #FundingFriday we are highlighting federal preparedness and assistance resources relating to natural disasters caused by storms like Hurricane Florence, which has been battering North and South Carolina.
FEMA.gov: “Up-to-date resources and information on the federal response to Hurricane Florence”
Ready.gov: “Take time to learn lifesaving skills − such as CPR and first aid, check your insurance policies and coverage for the hazards you may face, such as flood, earthquakes, and tornados. Make sure to consider the costs associated with disasters and save for an emergency. Also, know how to take practical safety steps like shutting off water and gas.”
While it is too early to provide a full list of funding opportunities and resources for people and communities impacted by Hurricane Florence, we can point folks towards several search tools on DisasterAssistance.gov that will prove valuable in the coming weeks. Please bookmark these resources and check DisasterAssistance.gov regularly for new information relating to federal assistance and Hurricane Florence:
