Stories of Impact from the Federal Grants Community: Training for Vets

Federal Grant Impact Stories - VAIf you are a regular to Grants.gov, you are likely accustomed to seeing scores of new federal grant opportunities published every month. What happens after all of those grants are awarded and the funds are spent?

Federal agencies that oversee the spending of grants often share stories of impact on their websites and social media platforms. This week, we are highlighting  a few of the most recent success stories.

Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program

In early August, three entities, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, announced a nearly 50 percent reduction in Veterans experiencing homelessness since 2010. This success is attributable, in part, to an interagency effort to focus on serving the needs of veterans, assisting with everything from housing to job training.

1. Department of State, U.S. Mission to India – Framing the Debate on Climate Change

Through this program, the U.S. Embassy in India seeks to raise awareness about the complex conversations surrounding climate change among the college youth in the North Indian states and territories of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Successful proposals will lay out plans for engaging university students in the major cities and educational hubs in these states.
